The top place in the “Insurers for Society” category conferred to ZEAD BULSTRAD VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP for the Little Giants national initiative

The most illustrious annual awards in the insurance sector took place on the Insurer’s Day, 1 October.
Bulstrad took the distinction of “Insurers for Society 2024”. This award is conferred for the highest achievements (projects, causes and long-term initiatives) undertaken for the benefit of society in Bulgaria.
The award was presented by the FSC Chair, Mr. Boyko Atanasov, to Mr. Ivo Gruev, MB member and executive director of BULSTRAD.
During the acceptance of the award, Mr. Gruev stated: “This is a rather different honor than the distinctions the company has received in the field of unrelenting competition in the insurance sector. The award holds a high moral and emotional value for us, because we are deeply convinced that insurance is not simply business, for us it is also a form of contributing towards a more sustainable society and a cleaner environment. To put it briefly, through our business we realize our vision of making our world a better place to live for current and future generations.”
The Little Giants is a nation-wide mini volleyball league for school children, launched in 2018. In 2023, more than 1,800 children from 76 locations took part in it. The Little Giants initiative is aimed at championing a healthy and active lifestyle among youth and promoting the development of the volleyball sport. The project has a social orientation and supports gender equality and ethnic diversity.

The volleyball matches in 2024 start in the beginning of November in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Stara Zagora, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse and Blagoevgrad.
The Little Giants is organized with the support of mayors of the hosting towns, as well as regional departments of education under the Ministry of Education and Science. The strict observance of volleyball rules is entrusted to certified judges from the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.
